NSANJE POLICE RE-ARREST CONVICT ABSCONDER

Police in Nsanje have taken back into custody a convict who escaped from lawful custody together with other suspect at Chiromo police post.

According to Nsanje Police Spokesperson Sub Inspector Agnes Zalakoma, on 5, March, 2023, a convict identified as Jonathan Mitsinje flee from the custody together with other seven  suspects who were kept in the custody at Chiromo police post around morning hours after overpowering the Officers who were on duty at the time.

Zalakoma has confirmed the development of re-arresting Mitsinje after police launched manhunt.

Jonathan who was convicted for found in possession of property suspected to have been stolen and will be soon appear before court to answer charges of escaping from lawful custody.

Meanwhile, Police investigations are still going on to arrest the remaining suspects, and in the same vein, police wish to ask those with information which may lead to the re-arresting of the suspects to come forward and assist.

Jonathan Mitsinje hails from Eliyamtengo village, Traditional Authority Kaphuka in Dedza district.
