Tragedy struck in Thyolo district when a 22-year-old woman, Melisha James, took her own life after a disagreement with her husband.

According to the district police deputy spokesperson, Rabecca Kashoti, the incident occurred on Saturday, February 27, 2023.

Reports suggest that Melisha had an argument with her husband, who left their marital home for his village on Friday. The disagreement was allegedly over money that the husband had borrowed from the deceased.

Following this, Melisha reportedly became distraught and took her own life.

The young woman hailed from Saka, Traditional Authority Nsabwe in Thyolo district. She was rushed to Thekerani Health Center, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
