Information reaching this publication indicates that unknown thieves have shot dead a villager from the area of Traditional Authority Mwaling’ombe in Karonga.

Karonga Police Spokesperson George Mulewa has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press but refused to shed more lights.

According to Mulewa, the villager got shot when he was trying to scare a suspected livestock thief.

Meanwhile police have launched a manhunt.
