Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma on Wednesday met Secretary to the President and Cabinet (SPC) Colleen Zamba at State House for the first time since her interdiction scandal.
The two met following a meeting hosted by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera which was attended by Minister of Justice Hon. Titus Mvalo, the Secretary to the President and Cabinet Ms. Colleen Zamba, the Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda, the Director of Public Prosecutions Masauko Chamkakala and Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau Ms. Martha Chizuma.
Weeks ago Zamba interdicted Chizuma over what she described as criminal charges that the ACB boss was answering.
Due to pressure from donors, the state dropped the criminal charges leveled against Chizuma. This also saw Zamba withdrawing the interdiction.
Writing on his official facebook page President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera said he has prompted key institutional heads in the fight against corruption to collaboratevely undertake their noble duty guided only by the sovereign administrative and legal statutes above anything else.
According to Chakwera, the meeting was part of his administration’s efforts in fighting corruption.
“The cordial engagement among these critical institutions further cements our resolve to deal with corruption with a seamless approach that bears fruits,” Chakwera wrote.
