Mulanje South East MP Naomi Kilekwa snubs Speaker’s order

Mulanje South East legislator Naomi Kilekwa has refused to go out of the parliament chamber following an order by the Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara.

It all started when Kilekwa and other opposition members of parliament wanted some photo journalists who were taking pictures to be stopped but the speaker argued those who were taking pictures were accredited.

But Kilekwa continued to protest resulting into the Speaker imposing standing order 105.

Kilekwa refused to vacate the house.

Hara has since warned the legislator of a stiffer punishment come Monday.

Meanwhile, Chakwera is continuing with his State of the Nation Address.
