Silver Strikers FC Names Pieter de Jongh as New Head Coach

Silver Strikers FC has announced the appointment of Pieter de Jongh as the club’s new head coach on a two-year contract based on performance and results. The 53-year-old Dutch-born coach will arrive in Malawi on Sunday, according to the club’s board secretary, Peter Masiye.

De Jongh succeeds Zambian coach Daniel Kabwe, who was fired in July of last year. During the final lap of last year’s campaign, temporary coaches Leo Mpulula and Etson Kadenge Mwafulirwa held the fort for the club.

As a seasoned coach with extensive experience, De Jongh is expected to bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to the club. His appointment marks a new chapter for Silver Strikers as they aim to build on their recent successes and strive for even greater achievements.

The Dutch-born coach becomes the third expatriate coach to take charge of a Malawian team, following Zimbabwean Kalisto Pasuwa at Nyasa Big Bullets and Briton Mark Harrison at Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.

With De Jongh at the helm, Silver Strikers fans can look forward to an exciting future as the club sets its sights on success both on and off the field.
