Police called to resolve stalemate over coffin at Golden Peacock Hotel in Blantyre

Chaos has erupted at the Golden Peacock Hotel in Blantyre as a stalemate continues over the remains of a former employee, Joseph Ngulube.

People from Mbayani have dumped the coffin at the hotel reception, alleging the company’s failure to provide assistance with a coffin and transportation to Mzimba for Ngulube’s remains.

In response to the situation, four police land cruisers carrying uniformed officers have arrived at the hotel to resolve the matter.

Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased are locked in a room with the hotel’s management, attempting to come to a resolution.

More details to come.
