Democratic Progressing Party (DPP) lawmaker for Chikwawa North Owen Chomanika has accepted his appointment as Deputy Minister of Local Government.

Chomanika confirmed his acceptance during Times Radio’s Times Talk programme aired on Wednesday which was hosted by Brian Banda.

Chomanika said he got a hint of his appointment some time back and he informed DPP president Peter Mutharika of the matter.

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera announced his 27 member cabinet on the wee hours of Wednesday.

The new Cabinet saw some untouchables such as Eisenhower Mkaka, Patricia Kaliati, Tomothy Mtambo and others being kicked out.
