Police Yet to Arrest Suspects in Abduction Of Sylvester Namiwa

Malawi Police Service is yet to arrest the suspects behind the alleged abduction of activist Sylivester Namiwa, who went missing last July.

National police spokesperson, Peter Kalaya, has informed the media that they are still investigating the matter. Namiwa’s disappearance has caused concern among human rights activists and the general public.

Despite providing the police with evidence, including CCTV footage, Namiwa is disappointed with the slow pace of the investigation.

He says that it is unfortunate that the police are taking so long to make arrests despite having the necessary evidence. This has led many to question the efficiency and effectiveness of the Malawi Police Service in handling such cases.

The abduction of Namiwa raised serious concerns about the safety of activists and human rights defenders in the country.
