Former Gender Minister Patricia Kaliati has reacted to her recent dismissal from President Lazarus Chakwera’s newly recruited cabinet.
Despite the unexpected turn of events, Kaliati stated that she harbors no bitterness towards the decision, acknowledging it as the President’s prerogative.
The General Secretary of UTM, a key partner in the Tonse Alliance, dismissed concerns of a rift between President Chakwera and Vice President Chilima as a result of Kaliati’s firing.
Kaliati, a veteran female politician, has served in multiple senior Cabinet positions since her time in the United Democratic Front (UDF) era.
