Police in Thyolo have enlisted the help of Dr. Charles Dzamalala in investigating the rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl that occurred on Tuesday.

Thyolo Police Station Officer John Jailos confirmed the news, stating that more information will be released later.

Dr. Denis Solomon, the medical officer at Thyolo District Hospital, also added that a team of pathologists was present at the hospital yesterday.

The Member of Parliament for Thyolo Thava constituency, Mary Navicha, expressed her concern and sadness over the killing of the young girl, who was a student at Ntambanyama primary school.

Navicha also expressed her hope that the police will apprehend the culprits in both the girl’s murder and another killing of a sex worker that occurred earlier in the week.
