Chitipa Police Station Public Relations Officer Gladwell Simwaka has confirmed the death of a 9-year old girl child after drowning in a well.

Simwaka said the had gone missing on Tuesday only to be found Wednesday morning floating in a well close to her house.

He added that the girl was eleptic and was staying with her grandfather.

The deceased hailed from Mweneyamba village, in the area of Senior Chief Mwaulambya in Chitipa district.
