Men urged to follow cholera preventive measures

Authorities at Zingwangwa health center in Blantyre are asking men in the country to adhere to all cholera preventive measures to avoid catching the disease following the cases registered at the facility of which more than half are men.

Speaking after Matours Bus Company donated assorted medical equipment to treat cholera patients at the facility, In-charge, Rose Mzumara Folotiya said the facility has registered 16 cases but more patients are men.

According to Folotiya, the number of cholera cases are now fluctuating at the facility.

Corporate Social Responsibility Associate for Matours Bus Company, Bright Kampaundi said the company donated the items in response to the call from the presidential task force committee.

Kampaundi said the presidential task force committee has asked development partners, companies and well-wishers to assist the government in containing the outbreak.

In total, cholera has killed 773 people in the country with cases hanging at 23,217.
