Four Arrested in Nigeria for Running “Baby Factory” and Trafficking in Children

A Nigerian news source, Pulse.ng, reported that a young boy and a 29-year-old man named Chigozie Ogbonna were arrested for running a “baby factory” in Nigeria’s Rivers State.

They were reportedly working alongside two women identified as Favour Bright, 30, and Peace Alikoi, 40.

On January 7, 2023, police officers conducted a raid on the factory after receiving information and discovered multiple pregnant victims of child trafficking.

According to police investigations, when a victim delivered her baby, the syndicate leader would keep the child and pay the mother N500,000.

Some of the babies had also been sold.

The victims stated they were lured into the illegal activity due to financial struggles.

The police also recovered a Honda Pilot Jeep.
