More children selling goods during learning hours in Kasungu

A number of children selling goods merchandize such as water and mangos during learning hours is increasing in Kasungu Town.

Children in Kasungu are merchandize such as water and mangos.

Some of the children said they are sent by their parents or employed to sell goods while their friends are in class learning to meet their needs.

Social Welfare Officer for Kasungu District Council, McDonald Lungu expressed concern, saying the act of not sending children to school affects the development of children.

Lungu said lack of financial resources is making it difficult for the department to conduct a sweeping exercise.

Kasungu Civil Society Network Chairman, Blackston Mazoni Banda has called for urgent help from various stakeholders to protect children in the Municipality.
