The Inspector General, Mrs. Merlyne Yolamu, PPM, made the remarks on Monday, January 9, 2022 on the sidelines of Police Public Relations Officers (PRO’s) training in Lilongwe.

Yolamu pledged to fully utilize the forensic laboratory that will enable law enforcers fight electronic money fraud, illegal migration and cyber security crimes.

The Police Chief also commended MACRA for the PR training that will boost effective communications skills for Police publicists across the country.

“This training should be your benchmark for building up good relations with the media, civil society organizations and the public,” Yolamu advised the participants, adding that they must execute their duties professionally.

She therefore asked the PROs to join the Public Relations Society of Malawi (PRSM) for enhanced communications skills on matters of national security.
