Health Surveillance Assistant dies after being swept away by running water in Neno

An Animal Health Surveillance Assistant at Ligowe in Neno has died after being swept away by running water as he attempted to cross a flooded Nkase river on his motorcycle.

Neno police Officer-In- Charge Hanleck Chingolo has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
Chingolo has identified the deceased as Joshua Maseko.

Postmortem conducted on the body at Lisungwi Community Hospital has established that death was due to suffocation, secondary to drowning.

He hailed from Malopa village in the area of Traditional Authority Chimwala in Mangochi district.
