The Civil Servants Trade Union (CSTU) has postponed the industrial action in the form of a strike that was planned to start this coming Monday.
The strike was supposed to take place in a bid to force government review conditions of services, including current salaries and other benefits for all civil servants.
Madalitso Njolomole Secretary General for CSTU has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
Njolomole has, however, said that the strike has just been postponed and that if the two sides fail to agree on trying to improve working conditions for civil servants, they will revert to the plan.
The Civil Servants want the Tonse Alliance government of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to consider hiking their salaries.
