A number of people at Chizumulu Island have been left homeless following the hailstorm that occurred on Wednesday morning.

According to Friday Makwinja, an eye witness, said there were no casualties but some have sustained minor injuries and they are treated as outpatients at Chizumulu health center.

Likoma district Disaster Desk officer, Clifton Botha confirmed receiving the reports but asked for more time to give proper details once he receive the preliminary assessment report from responsible officials who are already on the ground.

Reports are currently showing that electronics and food stuffs are some of the property that have been fully damaged.
