Three suspended for stealing drugs at Phalombe district hospital

Three suspects from the supporting stuff at Phalombe District Hospital have been suspended for allegedly being found with drugs suspected to have been stolen from the hospital.

The district’s acting Director of Health and Social Services, Dr. Sam Sibakwe said the suspects were caught at the main gate of the hospital and they have been suspended for more investigations.

According to Malawi Health Equity Network (MHEN) Executive Director, George Jobe, the issues is being observed with interest arguing if not handled properly, it will have an impact on the newly opened hospital.

Healthy experts said drug stealing in public hospitals will continue to affect the provision of quality health care services in Malawi.
