Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) was on Thursday seen busking on the sun at his retirement home in the eastern district of Mangochi.

His public appearance follows rumours of his illness circulating on social media.

Eerier this week, the social media was awash with report that Mutharika has sneaked out of the country to South Africa for medical treatment.

But his appearance on Thursday has put to rest all the speculations.
