Mulanje police station gifted Victim Support Unit for GBV

The Eastern Produce Malawi (EPM) Limited has handed over a K35 million Victim Support Unit (VSU) for Gender Based Violence (GBV) to Mulanje Police Station.

The commissioning ceremony took place yesterday on December 19th 2022 in the district.

Managing Director for EPM, David Reynolds said criminals of Gender Based Violence (GBV) must face arrest, investigation and prosecution accordingly where as victims of GBV should have an improved place for psychosocial support.

According to Chikondi Chingadzi, Commissioner of Police for South Eastern Region, Mulanje has a highest records of GBV cases with 35 cases per month registered at the district Police Station.
