Spokesperson for Salima police station Jacob Khembo has confirmed the arrest of 39 year old man, Austin Bilton for allegedly assaulting his ex-wife to death at Kamuzu road in the district.

According to Khembo, the suspect and the victim got divorced earlier this year after being married for 12 years.

It is reported that the suspect went into hiding after he committed the crime and was arrested today at Nakondwa after well wishers tipped the police of his whereabouts.

The suspect will appear before court soon

Khembo hails from Mfuti Village of Traditional Authority (T/A) Kalonga in the district.
