Nyasa Big Bullets have signed Ekwendeni Hammers attacking midfielder Chawanangwa Gumbo on a three-year contract.

Bullets chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda said in an interview that the player will add depth to the squad.

He said: “We are confident that Gumbo will fit well in our squad.”

The attacking player was one of the Under-23 national team players who were offered a deal by Turkish agents International Pelican Sports Agency.

Before joining Ekwendeni, Gumbo played for Sanwecka FC in Mzuzu, a team that also produced Bullets trio of Patrick Mwaungulu, Felix Demakude and Chikumbutso Salima.

Gumbo is the second signing The People’s Team has made in November, following the arrival of Maxwell Gasten Phodo from Silver Strikers.

The People’s Team has pipped rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Silver Strikers, who were also interested in the 20-year-old.
