VOL CHIEF EDITOR RELEASES TUMBUKA BOOK

George Chitaya, the Chief Editor of Voice of Livingstonia (VOL) Radio has written a book which talks more about the Tumbuka Culture. The title of the book is”Khondo Na kupasuka kwa ma Ufumu.”

Chitaya said, “The book explains on how the causes of war between Shakazulu and the Ngoni people in South Africa. It further explains how the war got into Malawi and Zambia, the book also answers questions that were living people in suspence.

“The books explains more about different tribes in Tumbuka Culture, how they existed, and the impact they have had in people’s lives and breaking down of kingdom. The book gives insight in Ngonde, Tumbuka, Ngoni, Tonga and other bribes,” added Chitaya.

Orison Msiska a Historian has praised Chitaya because of the Tumbuka book which he has released by saying that writing history books using local language helps more people to understand what the book is trying to say unlike using English language limits oneself to a small audience, few people understands the language.

Msiska has also encouraged other authors not to use Queen Language but to use local language to help others to understand the book.
