Information reaching us indicates that a 35 year old woman identified as Martha Banda, killed herself in Lilongwe after drinking acid due to financial debts.

Reports indicate that Banda, a mother of 4 was residing in area 23 with her husband who is the retired staff of Malawi Parliament.

With the debts that she had, she decided to kill herself as a way of freeing herself from all debts.

She was laid to rest on Saturday, at kawale grave yard.
