Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that United Transformation Movement (UTM) regional governor for the North David Botha has resigned from the party.

The resignation of Botha comes amid infighting in the Tonse Alliance with UTM supporters accusing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera of sleeping on the job.

According to information at hand, Botha has joined the Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) which is headed by Enoch Chihana.

His resignation is with immediate effect.

UTM spokesperson Frank Tumpale Mwenifumbo is yet to comment on the matter.
