President Elect William Ruto and his deputy President elect Rigathi Gachagua will be sworn in today into the presidency. The two will take over officially today as they seek to lead the nation for the next 10 years.

The event is taking place at the Kasarani International Stadium. Kenyans from all walks of life have already made their way to the stadium which at the moment is full to capacity.

According to sources, the stadium was already full by 4:30 am as majority of Kenyans slept near the stadium entrance so as to get access to sitting areas.

However, there was drama moments ago as Kenyans forced their way into the stadium after overpowering the GSU officers manning the entrances.

Hundreds pushed against the gates which due to the heavy force broke down. During the scuffle, dozens were injured with 5 taken by ambulances with serious injuries due to the stampede.

At the scene, shoes and other personal items are seen scattered all over.
