The United Democratic Front (UDF) has expressed shock over the death of Mrs Lizzie Vachaan, mother in-law to Atupele Muluzi.

According to a statement seen by this publication, Mrs Vachaan died Saturday at a hospital in India.

She succumbed to cancer.

In a statement released by UDF Acting Publicity Secretary Yusuf Mwawa, the party said it is deeply shocked with the untimely death of Mrs Vachaan.

According to Mwawa, the party has lost a loyal supporter.

“In Mrs Vachaan, the party has lost a mother and a loyal supporter who has been with the party in all seasons. May her beautiful soul rest in internal peace,” reads in part the statement.
