Ex MEC Commissioner Linda Kunje’s relatives in three days fasting ahead of her sentencing

Relatives and friends of former Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Commissioner Linda Kunje have been on three day fasting ahead of her sentencing this coming Wednesday.

Kunje and her driver Jones Tewesa were convicted on the offense of criminal negligence which is contrary to Section 246 of the Penal Code.

The two were being accused of obstructing President Lazarus Chakwera’s convoy when he was travelling from Blantyre to Zomba in December 2020.

Last week, the court set August 31, 2022 as the day it will deliver its ruling on the matter.

The move forced relatives and friends to organized prayers and fasting from August 28, to August 30, 2022.

Through the prayers, Linda Kunje’s relatives want God to intervene on the matter and set her free despite being convicted.
