Two Arrested For Possessing Live Pangolin In Machinga

Police in Machinga are keeping in custody White Misokwe 30, and Chitenji Meja 33, for found in possession of a live pangolin.

On August 17, 2022 police received a tip that some people were searching for a buyer of a live pangolin at Mlembo village near Ntaja trading centre.

Following the report, police officers went to the scene where they managed to arrest the suspects and recover the live pangolin.

The two suspects are in Police custody and they will appear before court soon to answer the charge of illegal possession of specimen of listed species contrary to section 110(b) of national parks and wildlife act.

White Misokwe hails from Kapachiwa village while Chitenji Meja from Chipolonga village both from tradition authority Ntumbwinda in Machinga District.
