Son jailed for stealing, selling father’s car

A 27-year-old man of Lusaka has been sent to jail for five years for stealing his father’s motor vehicle valued at K60,000 and selling it at a paltry K7,000, and later allegedly gave the money to a witch doctor to cleanse him of a ‘bad spirit’.

This is in a case Paul Mukuka, of Lusaka’s Kamwala South, was charged with the theft of a Toyota Mark II, an offence he readily admitted committing.

After taking plea before Lusaka resident magistrate Mutinta Mwenya, Mukuka told the court that he sold the car and gave the money to a witch doctor so that the sorcerer could cleanse him of a bad spirit.
