The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) camp of former President Peter Mutharika will on August 28, 2022 hold a mega rally at Desert Ground in Bangwe Township in Blantyre.

This has been confirmed in a poster hovering on the social media seen by this publication.

According to the poster, former Minister of Agriculture Dr. George Chaponda who is currently at war with DPP Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa over leader of opposition posts in Parliament, will be the guest of honour.

This contrary to earlier reports indicating that former President Peter Mutharika will grace the rally as guest of honour.

Other notable faces that will grace the rally includes; DPP regional governor for the South Charles Mchacha and Director of Women in DPP Bertha Nachuma.
