ACB pounce on UTM’s newly procured 44 vehicles

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has accepted a request to probe the source funds for the procurement of 44 vehicles by the United Transformation Movement (UTM) party led by Dr. Saulos Chilima.

Two months ago, a concerned citizen by the name of Gosten Chinseu penned ACB Director General Martha Chizuma to investigate the procurement of the said vehicles at a cost of Mk3 billion.

ACB Public Relations Officer Egrita Ndala has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

Ndala said after reviewing the complaint by one Gosten Chinseu , the bureau finds merit for action on the same.

Governance expert, George Phiri, has welcomed the decision saying it will clear suspicions around the procurement of the said vehicles.

Meanwhile, UTM is yet to comment on the matter.
