According to reports, a Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) final year student and one of the Ashanti Regional Police Command’s officers are being held in custody for reportedly gang-räpíng a female student at the esteemed institution and filming the crime.
The girl was allegedly enticed into an off-campus hostel in the nearby town of Bomso by the two accused, who then allegedly pounced on her before räpíng her in turns, according to 3news.com.
According to reports, the terrible tragedy took place on Wednesday, July 20.
The alleged police officer, Frank Adu Poku, and his accomplice have now been taken into custody.
According to the news website, the police officer was detained at Apiadu Police Station while the accomplice student was held there as well for around two weeks before being transferred to the regional command under the Inspector-General of Police’s (IGP) direction for additional investigations.
Regarding the reported event, the Ghana Police Service has not yet made any comments.
