Former president of the United Democratic Front (UDF) Atupele Muluzi has expressed his concerns over the series of demonstrations that are happening in the country.

Muluzi who months ago announced his retirement from active politics, said things might turn ugly if the situation is not well looked into.

“Unfolding events in Malawi are concerning and extremely worrisome – things may take an ugly turn,”

Today alone the country experienced at least four series of protests in the regions both aimed at pushing President Lazarus Chakwera to scrap off presidential immunity and trim president powers.
