DPP worried with Namiwa’s abduction

The Democratic Progressive Party has condemned the alleged abduction of activist Sylvester Namiwa, and has called for the prosecution those who will be known to have had a hand.

Namiwa was allegedly abducted 45 minutes after addressing the media Wednesday afternoon on today’s demonstrations pushing for President Lazarus Chakwera to remove his presidential immunity from prosecution.

In a statement signed by the party’s Director of Legal Affairs Charles Mhango, the DPP notes that Namiwa’s abduction is an infringement to human rights.

The opposition DPP has since accused the Tonse Alliance government of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera of having a hand on the matter.
