Former President Dr. Joyce Banda in the past weekend met well-known Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P in Nigeria.

The former President was in Nigeria courtesy of Akindele Foundation and Platform Capital where she was a key note speaker.

After the event, Peter Okoye of P Square paid a surprise visit to the former President and founder of the Joyce Banda foundation.

The former President hailed Peter and Paul for their reunion.

“Today, I am so happy that my son Peter Okoye of P Square came to see me. I am grateful to somebody in Malawi I do not know who, Peter tells me somebody tagged him. That is how he knew I am in Lagos. He looked for me and found the hotel.

“He found Arnold and Edith and came to surprise me. What a pleasant surprise!!! He also got Paul by video call so we could speak since he arrives back in Lagos tomorrow and I will be gone,” wrote Banda.

She added: “I am so happy they are back together. When Peter visited me in Malawi, it was a few weeks before their reunion. I told Peter, I did not care who did what, I just knew that with God’s help they should get back together. I am sure their mom must be smiling.

“Their song released yesterday is already doing very well with over a million views.”

Peter and Paul parted ways in 2016 due to music issues. According to reports, Mr P wanted their older brother Jude Okoye to step down as their manager. Consequently, their relationship got sour.
