Dedza Police Spokesperson Edward Kabango has confirmed that the detectives are on the ground hunting for a primary teacher at Bua Primary School, Saidi M’dezatembo, for alleged attempted rape.

According to Headteacher for the school Zephaniya Thawani alleges that M’dezatembo locked the girl in his house for some hours where the Standard 8 learner revealed he fondled and attempted to rape her.

Thawani said the girl was only released after some learners at the school, who had apparently seen their colleague being taken into the teacher’s house, shouted for help.

Currently, the teacher is on the run.
