Ras Chikomeni Chirwa has come out of his cocoon to declare that he will once again contest as President in the forthcoming 2025 general election.

His declaration comes barely two days after former President Peter Mutharika revealed that he will again be a torchbearer for the opposition Democratic progressive Party (DPP) in 2025 polls.

Chikomeni, who picked her mother as runningmate in the 2019 polls has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

During 2019 polls, the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) blocked Chikomeni from contesting after failing to raise Mk2 million nomination fees.

Chikomeni also failed to get enough signatures for his nomination.
