24-Year-Old Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing k9.2 Million From His Boss In Salima

Salima Police Station spokesperson Jacob Khembo has confirmed the arrest of 24-year- old man, Moyenda Goliati, for allegedly stealing 9.2 million kwacha.

According Khembo, on July 1st this year Goliati, is suspected to have collected the cash from Simama Salima Sugar distributors, meant to be deposited into the bank account of a company he works for, Grandmax.

He said when the owner of the company tried to reach him on the day he collected the money, he allegedly said he was in the bank for deposit and later switched off his phone.

Upon hearing that the police were hunting for him, Khembo said Goliati handed himself over to the law enforcers where he told them that the money was stolen from him through magic.

He comes from Tsale village, Traditional Authority Kabudula in Lilongwe.
