Dowa Police Public Relations Officer Gladson M’bumpha has confirmed the arrest of a 70-year-old woman identified as Ireen Mazengera for allegedly being found in possession of medical drugs without licence.

M’bumpha said police worked on a tip from from well-wishers that the woman, was allegedly offering for sell drugs such as Amoxicillin, Tuberculosis drugs, Limestone, Indocid, Salbutamol and Bactrim and among others at Chidothi CCAP Church within the village.

Upon getting the tip, police rushed to the scene where they found the said medical drugs contained in plastic bag and they immediately arrested the woman.

She will appear before court soon over illegal possession and sale of medical drugs.

Mazengera hails from Chidothi Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chiwere in the district.
