Balaka Council Chairperson Steven Michael Sauka Jr Resigns After 7 Months

Steven Michael Sauka Jr, Council chairperson for Balaka district has resigned after serving the council for 7 months of his 12 months tenure.

In a letter addressed to his colleagues, Sauka Jr did give reasons fopr his departure.

“I want others to try too. I have done my part. Those who are capable let them take over the position,” said Sauka in an interview with Zodiak.

He sai in a letter, he leaves the position contented after steering the council to position one, on the Local Authority Performance Assessment, LAPA reports in the Governance to Enable Service Delivery (GESD) project among other achievements.

Council spokesperson Mary Makhiringa is yet to comment on the matter.
