PAC asked to mediate in MCP, UTM fight

The Human Rights Consultative Committee (HRCC) has written the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) to mediate on the disagreements within the ranks and files of the governing Tonse Alliance.

The development follows infighting between Malawi Congress Party (MCP) supporters and United Transformation Movement (UTM) supporters.
The two supporters are fighting for supremacy.

Due to the infighting, some supporters of MCP are plotting to go sole in the forthcoming 2025 Presidential polls.

Spokesperson for the quasi-religious body Reverend Gilford Matonga confirmed receiving the letter dated April 21, 2022.

Recently Catholic Bishops in the country said the infighting in the Tonse Alliance is frustrating development in the country.
