Mzuzu, June 13, Mana: Lilongwe-based musician, Christopher Malera alias “Avokado” has hooked up with Thoko Katimba for his new single entitled ‘Yehova’ which isto be released this coming Wednesday, June 15.
Done using an Amapiano beat, Avokado says the song gives praise to God and appreciates His love for taking human beings through different tribulations and situations which cannot be attributed to mankind.
The song has featured Lilongwe-based gospel music artist, Thoko Katimba, fondly called Thoko Anaphi Katimba by his music followers.
In an interview on Monday, Avokado said he was inspired by Thoko Katimba’s music, hence decided putting him on an Amapiano beat.
“Working with a legend like Thoko Katimba makes me feel great since this is the guy I have grown up listening to in the gospel circles,” said Avokado.
He said people should expect a song which will inspire and make them dance at the same time as Amapiano genre incorporates danceable beats.
The song, which has been produced by LCB Studios and Macksay Beats, will be the second track to be released by Avocado in 2022 after dropping ‘Ndaima Nji’ in January which featured CRS Golden Voices.
Several Thoko Katimba’s and Avokado’s fans have expressed their excitement over the development through the Amapiano Land Lord’s Facebook page saying they cannot wait to hear Thoko Katimba’s voice in an Amapiano beat.
Luke Nedson Chigonja wrote, “We are waiting and counting down. The most high should also be praised through the Amapiano beat as He is the God for all.”
On his part, Thoko Katimba said as an artist who has been in the music scene for quite some time, he has the duty of guiding new artists to the right path as well as work with them so as to come up with good music for the people.
