You can now pin up to three posts or reels to the top of your Instagram profile. Like pinned posts on TikTok and Twitter, they’ll appear at the top of your Instagram grid as if you just posted them.
Select one of your posts or reels and then tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the post to activate the feature. Then, select Pin to your profile. When you return to your profile, you’ll see your post with a white pin icon in the top-left corner of your grid. If you add another post or reel, any previously pinned posts will be pushed to the right.
Pinned posts have been planned since the beginning of the year. Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer, discovered the feature in January, and Instagram formally announced a test in April. While many users already use story highlights — which appear as bubble-shaped thumbnails below your profile picture and follower count — to highlight different types of content, pinned posts could allow creators to ensure specific posts get noticed.
