Bishop Mtuwa Asks Matola To Apologize Over ‘Achule’ Sentiments

President for Pastor Link Malawi, Bishop Chimwemwe Mtuwa has called on Minister of Energy, Ibrahim Matola to apologize for calling critics of President Lazarus Chakwera frogs just hours after Matola made a statement clarifying his remarks.

On Monday, Matola told president Chakwera to continue inspecting different development activities taking place across the country and should not listen to people accusing him of wasting taxpayers’ money through his trips, both local and international.

In his exact words Matola said “…musawanvere achulewa…” a development which angered Malawians and called for Matola’s apology.

Responding through his public relations officer Marshall Dayton, Matola said he was misquoted adding that he never meant to demean Malawians but rather to encourage Chakwera to focus on critical issues affecting the country.

While calling Matola to apologize to Malawians, Bishop Mtuwa also reminded politicians to refrain from appeasing their leaders at the expense of people who voted them into power.

Matola is yet to issue the apology as calls are still growing.
