Police in Chikwawa have arrested a woman for possessing seven bags of cannabis sativa popularly known as chamba.

The suspect has been identified as Rhoda Leonard 39, of Kalima Village, in the area of Traditional Authority Maseya in Chikwawa District.

Police say their detectives acted on a tip to round up the woman at her house where she was allegedly keeping the illicit drug.

Currently, the samples of the suspected stuff have been taken to Bvumbwe Research Station for examination.
