Malawian award winning musician Onesimus has announced that he is no longer under Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s Major 1 records.
In a statement seen by this publication, the Solomon hit maker said he has signed with a different management company.
According to Onesimus, “the move is a bid to expand my musical reach as I will be making all kinds of music to accommodate different masses.”
However, he was quick to clear that his relationship with the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Jesus Nation Church leader is not affected in any way.
“I must underline and emphasize that this move in my management does not change the relationship I have with my spiritual leader Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, As well as my membership to the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) The Jesus Nation Church,” said Onesimus in a statement read by this reporter.
He went on appreciating Major 1 Records for what he described as unconditional support rendered to his career.
“Let me take this moment and appreciate Major 1 Records for the unconditional support rendered to my career and it’s my prayer that the label continue to support more artists as it always does,” he said.
When he signed under Major 1 records, Onesimus the then Armstrong had just quit doing secular music and focused on gospel until lately he is releasing love songs which would be put in the category of secular music.
