Malawian Man Kills Biological Father Over Land Proceeds

A 41 year old man in Kasungu is on the run for allegedly killing his 65 year old father over land proceeds.

The suspect and victim are identified as Henderson Lowole and Alick Lowole respectively.

Kasungu police Station Assistant Publicist Miracle Mkozi said the incident happened on May 8, 2022 at Kamuhoyeni village in the district.

According to Mkozi, Lowole (now deceased) sold a piece of land at five hundred thousand Kwacha (K500, 000) and he did not share the proceeds with his son (Henderson).

Mkozi said this did not go well with Henderson who at around 3:00 hours opted to attack his father and then escaped before their neighbors had arrived at the scene.

Mkozi said the matter was later reported at Nkhamenya Police Unit where police officers accompanied by a medical practitioner from Kaluluma Health Center conducted a postmortem.

She said results revealed that death was due to head injury secondary to the assault.

Meanwhile the police has appealed to community members to tip them with information on the where abouts of the suspect.
